The Green Bank Telescope

Located at the Green Bank Observatory in the National Quiet Zone in the Appalachian Mountains of West Virginia, The Green Bank Telescope (GBT) is the largest steerable object in the world at 485 feet tall, weighing 17 million pounds, and with a 100 meter diameter that is perfectly smooth to 5 nanometers.
